International Criminal Court was established based on Rome Statute, 17th of July, 1998 when 120 countries participated in United Nations Diplomatic Conference on Plenipotentiaries on the Establishment of an International Criminal Court had legalized the Rome Statute.

The Rome Statute is very essential for Indonesia, especially when we look at some serious human right cases in Indonesia which ended with the failure of courts in finding and punishing “the most responsible person”.  By ratifying ICC, Indonesia has bound by strong commitment to give human right protection for its people and fulfill its duty to punish the human right criminals, so the world will not judged it as “an unwilling Country”.

This book is expected to give contribution for reviewing several law instruments to protect human rights and support human right fulfillment in Indonesia. As a result, we can reduce mistakes caused by misunderstanding and the lack of knowledge about human right problems and insufficient information regarding procedure to solve human right violation problems both in national and international levels.

This book is more completed than the previous edition with 2 new things attached in which are Rules of Procedures and Evidence, and Elements of Crimes.
